What a wonderful and peaceful world you introduced us to. I wish I could keep it now that I’m back in this busy place. You did a great job in orienting us so that there were few questions. You worked hard as chief cooks and bottle washers. Remarkable planning… You are impressive in your knowledge of the flora nd fauna. Your efforts in making it physically possible for me to be with you every day was above and beyond my expectations. JC, Okefenokee Photo Safari November, 2014
Now that we’re back home, I just wanted to thank you again for both fabulous tours you put together for us! The boat tour to Ossabaw was just outstanding, and we’re so glad that Kristin and Mickey were our guides. And the next day Diana took us to some incredible bird sites. We succeeded in seeing a few painted buntings, even got a few fleeting photos. Both trips enabled us to see things we’d never seen before. Thanks again for you hard work putting these tours together for us.
Congratulations on 40 years of bringing enriching experiences to our youth, allowing them to discover their world, and understand that we are all stakeholders in it’s future survival. K.F., Savannah GA
Every moment was enjoyable! Your staff was so easygoing that it felt like heading out on an adventure with friends, only every time you wondered “what’s that?” there was someone there to tell you. I liked the combination of history and biology/ecology that was shared with us. A fabulous trip!
We had a lovely time on our tour Sunday. Our guide was enjoyable and the boat captain was entertaining and both were incredibly knowledgeable. The early morning start you suggested was perfect as we got to see Ossabaw before anyone had been there and there were lots of baby dolphins out. I would recommend you guys to anyone looking for a nature tour.
The marsh walk was one of the most delightful experiences I have ever had with my grandsons. It was just right…Your guide was full of good information, and just so engaging! I am delighted.
I really enjoyed collecting sand dollars, and it was really good being with people who really knew their stuff – from the types of plants, to the sea creatures, to birds. It was great to be with such a knowledgeable group. The most enjoyable part of the tour was escaping the crowds on the beaches of Tybee Island. As an Australian, I am unaccustomed to heavily crowded beaches. Keep up the great work! The tour is fantastic and the small group size makes if perfect to get something out of it.
My family and I had a wonderful experience with Becky during the Beaches and borders our. She was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic, and that was a tall order since she had to keep 4 teenagers interested for almost 3 hours. She handled the job admirably. Very good and balanced information. We appreciate the good work you are doing. R.M.
“Thank you for working with us to set up such an amazing trip on the water. You were right, the captain and guide both had so much knowledge about the area and everything we saw throughout the trip. It was a truly unique and once in a life time experience.”
“We could not have asked for more – Diana Churchill is an amazing birder – she hears them, spots them, and educates us about the birds and their habitats…I know Wilderness Southeast does other tours, but if anyone is into birding – Diana Churchill is a MUST!”
